Start emergency

An emergency can be started via the emergency headcount portlet.  This is commonly used to carry out evacuation drills.

1. Select area

Check next to one or more sites or zones to put this area into emergency.   If a site is checked this will automatically select all corresponding zones.

2. Click start emergency button

The start emergency button will only activate once a site or zone is selected.

3. Click ok to confirm

If the top grid section of the emergency headcount portlet does not appear in red - refresh the browser to update.

The sites and zones in emergency are highlighted in bold with red background and a red exclamation mark (1).  Once an emergency is started the missing list button (2) is automatically selected.  When this is selected the missing list is displayed in the grid below.  The portlet can no longer be minimised or closed.  The check boxes for the selected sites and zones are automatically unchecked which prevents a person pressing the stop emergency button mistakenly.  

5. View missing list in grid

All people that were currently onsite in the selected area are now classed as missing until they are marked as safe.  Missing people are highlighted in red.  Once a person is marked as safe (either by a swipe safe reader or via the muster list) they will no longer appear in the grid.

In the access control panel missing people appear with an orange circle (1) around the photo and the missing banner (2) placed underneath.

The person status portlet will show the person as missing until he or she is marked safe.
