View badges
The badge portlet allows the user to view, create and amend people's badge records. It is also used to assign temporary badges to people who have forgotten their badge. For security reasons badges cannot be deleted by users in tdsaccess – they have to be expired so that a record is maintained of every badge allocated.
1. Select Menu => Maintain => Badge

2. View all badge details

All valid badges for active people within tdsaccess are displayed. People are listed in ID order by default (click on column heading to change to another sort order).
Data displayed is a record of all badge data for people, including the history of no longer valid badges assigned to people. Data included is the person’s ID, Name and Person Type, Badge Number, Version Number (for the badge), current status of the badge, Active Date, Expiry Date, Reclaim Date, Known As (for the person), Issue Number of the badge, UID (chip number of the badge if stored separately to the badge number), Username (last person to change the data record), Last changed date/time (when the record was last updated).
2.1. Use more options to filter

The portlet can be filtered by Person Type, Active/Inactive people, Badge Number (type the exact badge number), Status, Username (who last updated the badge details) and Badge Expiry. To view all badge statuses remove the valid status filter by clicking on the x (1).
2.2. Use badge expiry to filter

From the more options Badge Expiry drop down list, select Date Range to enter a from and to expiry date to filter portlet by certain expiry dates. Select No Badge Expiry to show all badges that do not have an expiry date.
3. Select person from combo

Click into person combo and type either name or ID to search. When person is selected only badges for that person will be displayed with the valid badge first by default followed in reverse order of assigned date/time.
