Assign temporary badge

Temporary badges can be assigned to any person that has a current valid badge. This section covers how to assign temporary badges via the badge portlet. For how to assign temporary badges via the ACP refer to the separate chapter of the user manual.

1. Click issue temporary badge icon

The issue temporary badge icon will be activated (coloured) in the action column next to the person's current valid badge.

2. Enter temporary badge number

Type in (or scan) the temporary badge number.  Sites should have a pre-defined stack of temporary badges to use.

3. View / change expiry date time

Expiry date time will automatically default to midnight of the current date.  It can be changed if required.  This will define the length of time the temporary badge can be used.

4. Click save

Once saved the status for the person’s current valid badge will be changed to forgotten. The expiry date of this current badge is unaffected.  The new temporary badge will be set to a status of valid with the entered expiry date and time saved against it.
