Portlet functionality
Portlets can be positioned and configured according to user preferences. Once a portlet is placed on the dashboard it will be saved in that position the next time the user opens tdsaccess. Columns within the portlets that are turned on/off will also be stored for the user.
1. Maximise the portlet

Click the maximise button to open the portlet in its own tab showing data over the whole page.
2. Minimise the portlet

Minimise the portlet to only display the title bar, providing more space on the dashboard to view other portlets.
3. Close portlet

Click the x at the top right of the tab to reduce a maximised portlet back to the dashboard (1). To completely close the portlet click the x at the top right (2).
4. Clear dashboard

To close all open portlets and tabs, use the clear dashboard button from the drop down arrow next to the username.
5. Page through portlet
All portlets have a paging toolbar at the bottom that indicates how many records are currently displayed (1) and over how many pages (2). Use the Next Page, Previous Page, First Page and Last Page icons to navigate through the data (3).
6. Refresh data

All portlets have a refresh button in the bottom toolbar (1). Some portlets can be set to auto-refresh data by toggling on the Auto Refresh button (2) - the button will appear darker grey when it is toggled on. The refresh rate in seconds can be changed per user by clicking the auto refresh drop down arrow and changing the interval period (3).
7. Export data to csv

Download the information currently displayed in any portlet into csv format by clicking on the csv icon in the bottom right of the portlet. This file can then be opened in spreadsheet software such as Excel.
8. Print data

Print currently displayed information from a portlet by clicking on the print icon in the bottom right.
8.1. Printed data will preview in another tab in the browser
Provided a printer is configured for the web browser all data from the portlet can be printed or downloaded in pdf format.
8.2. Allow pop ups

If the printed page does not appear in a separate tab check that pop ups have not been blocked by the browser(1). Click on "Always allow pop-ups from https://test.tds.ie" (2). Click on Finished button when completed (3).
9. Change order of columns or column width

To change the order of columns displayed, click and drag the column heading to the new position. Change column widths by clicking and dragging the cursor divider between headings. You can reset the columns in the portlets back to their original configuration by right clicking inside the portlet, selecting Grid Options in the menu that opens up and then clicking on the reset grid columns option.
10. Turn on/off displayed columns

To alter which columns are displayed in the portlet grid, click the drop down arrow to the right of any column heading (1), hover over columns button (2) and a list of all fields that can be displayed in the portlet will appear. Use the check boxes to select or deselect items for display (3).
11. Sort data in portlet

To sort data click on the column heading (1) or use the Sort Ascending / Sort Descending option from the column heading drop down list (2).
Note: ID fields in tdsaccess are character fields and will be sorted as such. If the data is displayed in groups, sorting by a column heading is not possible
12. Use single select combo boxes

All combo boxes allow the user to either click on the drop down arrow to the right (1) or type to search (2).
13. Use multiple select combo boxes

If a combo box allows the selection of more than one item, it will display as double height and contain the word ‘Multiple’
13.1. Add multiple items to combo box

To select multiple options, either use the drop down arrow to scroll and find the required item (1), or alternatively click into the box and type the code or description to search. The matching items will be displayed underneath the box. Click on the item to select it and then click away from the list to enter the value into the combo box. The description will appear with a cross to allow it to be deleted if required (2).
14. Change date format

The tdsaccess application will display date format as per the user's browser language. If the date format displayed is incorrect (e.g. in US format) change the language settings of the browser.
To change the language settings in Chrome:
- Click the Settings button at the top right of the screen
- Select Settings - + Show advanced settings,
- Press Language and input settings.
- In the Languages popup press Add button to add the language required, drag the new language to the top of the list on the left hand side
- Click the button on the right hand side to make sure Google Chrome is displayed in this language.
15. Select date

Many of the portlets have a date and time range selector. To change the date, click on the calendar symbol next to the date box and select the new date. Alternatively a date can be typed directly into the date box. The portlet will begin to search once you click out of any changed field.
16. Change time

To change time, use the drop down lists to pick times in 1 hour increments. Alternatively type the required time directly into the box. Click out of the changed field to begin the search.
17. Use keyword search

The Keyword search feature can be used to search for one or more words (or part of the words) in the portlet. Type the word(s) into the search box (1) and click enter (or the magnifying glass (2)). The keyword search will return all records where the search term appears in any of the columns. To clear the search filter click the x icon to the right of the keyword search (3).
18. Use more options to filter data

All portlets have a more options button (1) at the top right to enable the user to search by particular additional fields specific to the portlet. This allows for further filtering of the data displayed. One or more options can be selected in more options. Once the criteria has been entered press the search button (2). The more options icon will display in green and the title bar of the portlet will change to indicate that a filter has been applied. To cancel the more options filter press the reset button (3).
